Revere (Telechron) Rotors by Sequential Numbers
All Revere (Telechron) rotors are no longer in production from ANY source. I
have many rotors rebuilt and in stock. Any rotor that is not in my stock I can
rebuild even the aluminum ones.
Any rebuilt Telechron "B" rotor can have any shaft you'd need. Once I
open up a "B" rotor I can install any configuration of shaft or pinion.
The Telechron rotors that I sell at: http://www.revereclocks.com/rotor.html , are the copper
and nickel rather than the aluminum that were made from the early 1970's.
I don't list or sell any 50 cycle rotors.
There is a great book on the subject of Telechron/G.E. clock and it's called,
"Electrifying Time" by Jim Linz. Please be aware that the procedure described
in the book as "New Life into Dead Rotors" is flawed. The reason is that he
suggests using lacquer thinner. Lacquer thinner will slowly destroy phenolic
wheels, which are employed in all Telechron rotors.
The Telechron "B" rotor was in production as early as 1919 and, the "B-3" has
the greatest torque followed by the "B-2".
The "M" number of the rotor was Telechron's way of identifying the customer
and not the rotor. It has some significance in "B" rotors but all 3.6 rpm "H's"
have the same torque.
The Revere will always use a "B" rotor.

Coil & Plate Information
Information on Revere coils is intended as a user guide because many past
repair people just grabbed any coil that they could get there hands on and for
longer life of the clock and rotor, you should seriously consider replacing the
coil if your is not the proper wattage.
If your clock is "humming" and the rotor is not at fault, then your
coil could be oversized for the field. Meaning that if your coil was replaced
with an oversized coil, then that will produced a hum which some cannot diagnose.
The "plate" over the back of the rotor has all the information you
need. This plate cover contains the following information:

All coils cost $150.00 plus the $20.00 shipping (Canada is $45.00), if that
is all you order, otherwise the same shipping package can be used if you order the
motor/rotor at the same time, so no additional shipping costs are
necessary.
Any coil of the same wattage will work but the inside diameter is slightly
different for each and the tightest fitting coil will give the best results.
What I'm saying is that if you need a coil and the coil # is not legible then
you should send the field and old coil and I'll find the best fitting good coil
and return same. The cost is the same $150.00 plus shipping.
The 6 watt # 37 coil is extremely rare and only available with the purchase
of a complete 60 RPM motor.
To determine whether or not you need a coil, you can take a Multimeter or
Volt/Ohm meter, these are less than $20.00 at any hardware store, and with no
current on the motor, set the meter to Ohms and touch the two leads to the end
of the wires or the posts where the wires connect and see if you get a reading.
Just about any reading is a good one and if you can see the coil #, that represents
the Ohm reading so if your coil is a # 60 coil then you should get about 60 or 600 ohms
depending on the setting of the meter.

Payments
All checks must be made out to Mike Murray because I gave up my business checking.
I would like payment by money order, certified check, personal check,
business check, or through Pay Pal or Square, which is the only way I take
credit cards. I do prefer a check over Pay Pal or Square because Pay Pal and
Square take 4%. I only take credit cards if you are in the USA or Canada.
The 4% is added to the total bill if you use a credit card.
With Pay Pal you can pay me directly using "friends and family" where
you absorb all fees and I'm paid the full amount. There would be nothing
added amount to the final fill if you absorb all fees. Here you log on
to Pay Pal and send me the full amount of my bill, so there is no E-voice
coming from me with this method and you will be charged all Pay Pal fees
on top of my final bill.
With either Pay Pal or Square, I will send an invoice to your E-mail
address. Here you are dealing directly with either service and not me.
You do not have to be a member of Pay Pal or Square in order to issue a payment but
the 4% will be added to your total bill.
All of the added fees are exactly what either service charges me for taking your
credit card.
You should realize that a Telechron coil will effectively replace the Hammond

36 Tooth Pinion for Most "B" Chiming Clocks
Most Herschede, Revere, & Telechron chiming clocks take the "B" rotor
and attached to that rotor is a 36 tooth pinion. These pinions are lost at a
far too great of a rate. I have a small stock of these pinions, which are
guaranteed to be an exact replacement or your purchase price will be refunded
to you upon the pinion's return.
All 36 tooth pinions cost $75.00 plus $20.00 priority mail (Canada is $45.00)
and are guaranteed to fit and work properly, which brings your total cost to
$95.00.

If you want to send in the clock for pinion replacement, please be advised that
shipping will jump to $175.00 with everything else staying the same. The increase
covers return shipping and insurance and includes my labor charge of $100.00 for
the replacement.
I'll not ship the pinion until I received payment, so in order to
expedite the transaction please enclose your payment . I ONLY
accept money orders, certified checks, or company checks for payment
but repeat customers may use personal checks. Normally
shipping takes place one week or so after I receive payment and thanks !

What if the clock needs more service?
Sometimes the electric clock needs to be overhauled even thought all the
electrical parts are replaced.
Electric clocks and especially chiming electrics, will wear out and rebuilt
rotor or not they will not run or run accurately. One quick check it to
grab the center of the minute hand with your fingers and see if it wobbles.
Meaning that there should be a very slight amount of "up, down, or side to side"
play. If the "play" is greater than a mm or so then there is a good chance
the movement will have to be rebuilt in order for the clock to run properly.
